COVID-19 Update

Kansas City Indian Center remains committed to providing essential services to the community and we have modified service delivery for the safety of staff and clients.

We know the people we serve may be the hardest hit by this pandemic, and it is more important than ever to reach our community members in need.  We will continue to monitor local health guidance regarding COVID-19 and make adjustments accordingly.  Our facility is currently closed to the public and services are being provided by appointment only. Please call the center for an appointment for food pantry, emergency assistance, and referrals to resources.  Counseling and case management are also available via telephone or telehealth and our White Bison Wellbriety groups are currently available on Zoom.

With assistance from Indian Health Services, National Council of Urban Indian HealthKansas City Regional COVID-19 Response & Recovery Fund, Native American Community Response Fund, National Urban Indian Family Coalition and many other friends and donors, we are able to respond to this crisis and increased demand with expanded services, including counseling via telemedicine, increased food pantry items, hygiene supplies, cloth face masks and other services.  We are forming collaborations with other agencies to provide other needed services and will continue to update our clients and community members.  If you or a loved one is in need of assistance, please call us at (816)-421-7608 or email information@kcindiancenter.org.

Remember to take care of your spirit, your physical being and your mental health.  We are here to assist and we will get through these challenging times together.

How the Community Can Help

We have paused our volunteer and community service program for the immediate term.  To volunteer remotely, please contact us.

The most effective way to help us through this crisis is to donate funds. Every donation helps ensure we have resources available to meet the additional demand. As a Harvesters Agency Partner, we are able to procure food at a reduced cost. We sincerely appreciate your support.
